Because you asked for one :P

Here is your review:

There are very few things that could be improved with this song, and I think perhaps the very beginning area of the intro could be rewritten a bit (maybe the first thirty seconds?) It sounds a bit too complacent for the energy that comes later from that nice bassline that kicks in around the first minute and becomes the real theme of the song.

However, I really liked the spacing of the theme breaks (for instance, the one around 2 minutes really helped with keeping the song fresh), as well as the high pitched bell-ish sounding instrument used during them. Really lends the song a kind of fresh start every time, which I really think helps to keep me interested in listening to the whole thing (as you said, long tracks take a lot out of you :p)

Barely any room for improvement, 9/10, 5/5, DL'd.

!!!

Playing Company of Heroes, was looking at this during the loading screen, so no time for a real review, but I approve!

Ye have answered me!

Song rocks, all that, thanks for making more stuff, thought you were dead music-wise :(

Excellent!

I loved the original, it had a great beat, and a good tune. This remix gives it some much needed quality and a bit of mixing (it was really bad when you had the older version on higher volume only for the high-pitched synths to get all distorted). Not much else to say, well done and good update.

Absolutely amazing!

There is nothing more to be said. If I had improvements I'd give them to you, but I like it all so much already, there's nothing I can do to help :(

NemesisTheory responds:

While that sounds like a sad thing, largely due to the smiley/frowney, it's actually a big compliment, haha!

Thanks a ton, bro. :)

Another good vocal track?

These things are growing like weeds! Weeds that have tastey, tastey fruit :D

The lyrics are well constructed, and fit the music well. That's all I really have to say on this one, though one point I may have changed was how abrupt the second melody + end were. They were very short compared to the rest of the song and could have used some more development, if you ask me (which, given you want reviews, you did :D) 5'd and DL'd regardless.

Another great vocal track?!

Me reviewing two great vocal techno tracks in one night? How could this be! Bah, I thought this kind of thing never happened. Oh well ><

Intro (0:00-0:40ish) - Well, I can't say it was much of an intro. It built up great, but there was a bit of a major problem with the body that caused it a big issue. Well, the intro itself, actually, was fine. It's really the body's problem. (3/3)

Body 1 (0:41-1:06) - Well, HERE is a big problem with the song. This body is the same as the intro build up! You never added or subtracted anything! That, in my opinion, really needs fixing. Well, I think it's sped up a bit, but really it's the same as the end of the intro buildup. You can't just build all that up and then not give the listener the satisfaction of something new. (1.5/3)

Body 2 and return to Body 1 (1:06-end) - No real issues here, some well done vocals, mostly, and a good return to the original theme. It was that the original theme never changed from the intro that's the real problem here! (3/3)

Did I like it personally? (0:00-end) - Why yes, yes I did. On the whole the song was very good. (1/1)

Bringing your score to an 8.5/10. That body not really changing any kind of hurt you pretty badly in my eyes, but remember, I'm not the be-all end-all music reviewer, so it's possible that's just what makes the song great for some people. It's just that those people aren't me :( 4'd and DL'd, however.

EON responds:

Thanks for that. These are the kind of reviews I could do with more of. I do appreciate the enthusiastic encouragement but structured critisism is what I really need.
And I guess you do have a point with the body not being much different to the intro, I thought the drums coming in in full would be enough but maybe it could have done with a bit more.
Thanks again.

Very well done, once again!

Well, I'm not in much of a review-writing mood (once again, I am over-tired D;), but I can say this: the song has great progression, great flow. It might be a tad bit repetetive towards the middle-end (like around 60% through, maybe?), but other than that it's very well done.

I know I said I'd cut out the "good job, moving on" reviews, but I just couldn't help dropping you a bit of encouragement for another great song. Voted 4 and DL'd.

Very interesting!

Your use of vocals reminds me of a lot of other techno-ish music with vocals, especially the pitch and intonation of them. It seems that a lot of male vocals for techno songs have that strange pitch modulation, audible at around 0:24, 0:25-ish. I never quite understood what was up with that, but it sounds good anyway, so I don't mind much ^^

Anyway, time for the review.

Intro - Well, it introduces the song nicely, but it isn't very long and cuts right to the point (and the lyrics!), so I think its job is accomplished well enough. It certainly wasn't absent, it just could have been a bit longer, maybe. Not too much, your length worked. (2/2)

Body 1 (:45ish until 1:30) - This part is kind of generic, could use some spicing up. I'm no musical expert, I won't pretend to know what to add to it, but it needs a bit of something. (2.5/3)

Body 2 (1:31 until 2:15) - This had a nice beat, good rhythm, rockin' melody, but it was perhaps, once again, a tad too short! Maybe lengthen it out another 15 seconds, give the people what they want :p (2.5/3)

Falling Body (2:15-2:25) - Just a bit of a winding down, but adds a new instrument nonetheless. (1/1)

Outro (2:25 to end) - Well, it ends the song, and roughly as it began. Gives a nice feeling of coming back to the start of things. (1/1)

Total Score: 9/10. Needs a bit of improvement, but a great song overall. Voted 4 and downloaded.

Original, yet classic.

Personally, I'm diggin' that pipe organ in there :D

The intro is pretty low-key, but that would seem to go best with the game's playstyle. It doesn't usually start off all up in the action, it only gets that way after a... well, an intro :p

Once the theme is introduced at 0:34 by the brass pieces, I could really feel how it could be Terran-ish. But then it cuts off to a really low-key thing again, which was a bit unexpected. Gives it a nice lull in the middle, making the song more diverse.

The second time the main theme comes in it lasts a bit longer, but is not really any more diverse. This is a tiny bit of a fault, but not terrible.

Overall I'd say this song is on the right track, but it could use a bit of a push to get off the decent track list and onto the truly amazing ambient area (i.e. good background music). Could use a quality boost, too. The instruments sound a bit low quality (or maybe that's just the rate, I dunno).

Wow, thanks for your review! Happens not often that a review helps so much.
I have to agree on everything you said, i know im still a beginner.
Thanks again!
