I really dig the melody

I know that this song was submitted way long ago so the advice on your "final version" is probably not warranted, but the melody is good, all that needs adjusting is the filler/rhythm intrument(s) really I think.

In regards to the Synth's Volume

That guy was kind of right, even if he did vote a bit on the low side, the kick is really drowned out by the Synth which might actually be clipping slightly at points, and the clap overshadows the kick as well. Song needs a tougher beat to break through the synth, and the synth needs to get cut back a bit, then we'll be talking about a good piece :)

Sounds Drum and Bass to me. Maybe too MUCH bass :P
