When I saw the title...

Thought it was gonna be a remix of API's song, "Anaconda". Damn but I was wrong. That song hurts my ears, this one... not so much :D

Oh, and I spent far too much time playing that minigame. Like for real. See the review of your preview for where else you can hear this lil gem ;)

As for the song itself, there was a bit of weird distortion around the one minute mark I didn't quite think fit the song, but it was great to see you remembered that little ending part of the ditty. Although it could've used a few more seconds and been loopified for listening to while veggin' out :(

Anyway, good job. Nets a solid 4/5 from me for not necessarily improving very much on the original, but being a killer song anyway while not outright copying it.

CyrusOfNaias responds:

Thank you!
lolz yea I didn't add too many things of my own in there, save for the instruments and random FX.

I thought I DID loop it x_x

Well, well, well...

If you've read any of my other reviews (which you probably haven't, given how recent this account is), I am either A) Extremely thorough and helpful, or B) simply offer encouragement.

Unfortunately, I am feeling rather adverse to the tedium of analyzing the song and such, so I will have to do the latter. That, and I've enjoyed basically every other song of yours, so keep it up. I'll dock a point for originality and round up to a 5 on the rank vote. Good job.

NemesisTheory responds:

I'd read through your reviews but that feature hasn't been implimented yet, but I will definitely take your word for it! :p

Much <3 for the 5 and the review, and I'm glad to hear you like this song and the rest of the batch as well. :)

Augh, reviews.

Much like in other reviews today, I do not feel like going through the whole song to analyze it, but I will, however, offer encouragement if not advice.

Good work. 5'd.

MaestroRage responds:

Thats perfectly fine Reaper93, i'm happy just knowing that it was able to entertain you! Thank you for your encouragement, and the review!

Nicely done!

Well, here goes another review... I'll try to get right to the point so I don't waste your time.

This song doesn't strike me as having any real flaws, but not much of it sticks out which is exactly why. It's all kind of quiet and a bit ambient until around 2:30, which is a bit of a flaw. I really expect piratey things to be kind of "in-your-face" rather than more ambient, so work on that for the future.

Overall well put together, but needs some volume and crispness adjustment. 8 and 4 from me.

Lashmush responds:

This was uploaded when the 4MB cap was still in effect so I had to pull the quality down to 112kbps, thus the lack of crispness. The volume however is something that I need to work on, yes.
Thanks for the constructive viewpoint, friend. Looking forward to more of your opinions. ;D

Argh, more reviews!

Well, once again, very unique. I'll do a pro con list due to being tired, and lists take less thought than paragraphs.

Pro -
Very original, like most of your work.

Very happy sounding, also like most of your work. Although that's a very mood-related pro.

Not too repetetive. I think...

Con -
Bit short. Not as short as some of the other things you've made, but with putting only an hour or so per minute of track, you can afford to throw another 2 minutes onto the end of your songs to make your fans very very happy. Having to add the song a few times in a row on a playlist just to hear it long enough for it to have its intended effect is annoying. I would know.

Overall, there really aren't glaring flaws with this song, either. No points where it's completely empty, or too bare, no points where it's too full, no points where reverb is used incorrectly...

Basically the song gets a 10 on mechanics, and a 9 on awesome. 19/20 is an A, good work. 10'd and 5'd.

F-777 responds:

Thanks man for the long helpful review!

Got some punch indeed.

Well, let's start from the beginning, shall we? Long song, might be a while...

The intro is, well, very introductory. It serves no real musical purpose other than to let people know the song is starting. No real beats, no real leads, not much of anything besides that crow. Although I'll admit the crow reminds me of a killer song I heard once, so in my opinion there's nothing wrong with the intro. Maybe a tiny bit long? I mean most songs only have 3 or 4 maybe 5 second spans of not-much for an intro without anything to it, more or less, so maybe a tiny bit less room taken up by... nothing?

Then the piano gets us started off right. Sets a nice medieval tone to the song given the accompanyment from that choir and such. At which point the guitar cuts in and shreds your socks off, something completely unexpected, I must admit.

At around 2 minutes the theme changes a bit, and the guitar that was previously shredding us to pieces becomes the rhythm guitar, and a new one takes over (I think) as the lead. Certainly keeps the song fresh, if nothing else. Then the piano comes back to add the song, and I feel that's a good element as well, but I can't quite justify why.

The rest of the song seems to mostly carry itself through to conclusion without incident, except for the more frenzied pace of the ending segment, and a slight change in theme.

Overall very well done, gets a 4.5/5 on the review rating, and a 5/5 on the vote rating due to there not being a 4.5.

Lashmush responds:

The intro is actually waaayy too long, but this track used to be the introductory track of the "Antidestiny" 2CD project. I moved another track in as the intro and as such, this one does not need the long intro, but I've fallen in love with it the way it is and I do not want to change it now. ;D

Very well done!

Well, I can assume this is a relatively low quality work (kb/s-wise :p) based on its length, but the quality (effort + awesomeness wise) is very good.

Really nothing jumped out at me as "holy crap this is amazing!", but the song is far from bad. A download and a 4 from me.

Lashmush responds:

Thanks. I think this version is at 112 or 128 kbps... Cannot remember, honestly. The quality isn't that good in any case. But it's as optimized as I could without dablling around with VBR.

Bit above decent.

I don't terribly feel like reviewing anything short of "mindblowing" right now, which this ain't quite, so I'll keep it short.

Considering it's mostly improvisational, this is very well done. The only thing it seems to be missing is some quality (or mastering?) increase.

Basically the guitars go well together, the rythm guitar plays a nice background strumming rhythm to the song, and the lead, well, it plays the lead. The song does what it's designed to do and sounds good doing it, which nets it a four in my book.

Naitzmic responds:

This is possibly one of the best reviews I've gotten
on any of my songs.

You totally got the point of what I did here.
Thanks.
