Good stuff

Your music's got a certain feel to it, and I like it. Keep it up.

ZeRo-BaSs responds:

Thank you!

I like.

No comments, but it's good. Keep this stuff comin' to the Newgrounds people :)

NemesisTheory responds:

Glad you dig it :3

And I shall!

Incredible Worksmanship!

Sounds like what it's supposed to (a song from a video game, duh! :p), and doesn't sound half bad doing it. 4'd, sorry 'bout the shortness.

CyrusOfNaias responds:

X3 Thanks no prob just having a review is worth it. Critiques is necessary :3

Very nice :D

All review'd out at the moment, so I'll keep it short.

The intro is pretty good, not too repetetive, plus it just sounds good. Around 45, though, I don't really like that sound you got going there. It's just too sour for my taste.

The end part of the song is a bit too repetetive, too. Other than that, it's pretty good. I gave it a DL ;)

Kr1zF-777 responds:

thx for the review and the DL !

*sigh*

This is one of those songs I really want to write a full review for, but I haven't the TIME! Well, in case I run out of time and have to hit submit and cut myself short, let me bottom line it:

THIS SONG FUCKING ROCKS OUT LOUD.

Ahem, thanks for that. Bear with me now...

Intro (0:00-0:25) - This part of the song just sets everything up so perfectly. It starts out classic trance, slow, peaceful, blended. Then out of nowhere this crazy bouncing synth kicks in, sounding kind of like a fast drumbeat, but electronic and ultra bouncey (not like the song writer, like the effect). It just goes so fast and is so unexpected, yet keeps the original intro melody in the background (so it really becomes the harmony, which only happens about 50% of the time), such that the entire segment is absolutely flawless. Except maybe better quality, but you can't help that. 3/3.

Body Riff [first half of body] (0:25-1:00) - This part is insanity. The bass beat kicks in, and it keeps getting faster and crazier, and higher pitched, until the action peaks a crescendo and begins to settle back down into the harmony, which turns back into the melody, ending the segment. Very feverish, very fast, very nice. 1/1.

Revert to Intro [second half of body] (1:00-2:20) - This reversion is very typical of trance and techno style music, so by no means is it bad, in fact, I think it gives the listener a much needed break to chill from that crazy intro and the opening riff of fast pacedness. It makes a few indications of the crazy beat in the background, but it has more of a soothing factor to it. This is the section of the song that nets it the trance genre, in my opinion. It does a very nice job of it, too, at that. Not too repetetive, which is the downfall of most trance music, but instead really just dips down and picks back up with the denouement. 2/2.

Denouement (2:20-3:19) - This ending is really about as great as the body riff, it kicks the action back up for one last burst of energy before the song ends. Once I heard that bouncing synth kick back in I knew it was climaxing the entire song. After one last intense wave of crazy fast beats and ever-higher pitched notes, the song begins to wind back down at 2:46 with a well-placed cymbal crash (not too loud, either, the main drawback of cymbals :D). The very end of the song is a traditional fadeout of the main beat until only the intro melody (which was harmony for about half the song) remains until one well-placed note ends the whole bonanza of sound. 3/3.

The "do I like it" category - HELL YES I LIKE IT! 1/1.

10/10. This is a perfect score. The song is fast, slow, energetic, relaxed, and absolutely incredible. I have no actual advice to give you on what to fix, because absolutely nothing needs fixing.

I demand a sequel.

synteza responds:

i am NOT responding with anything CLOSE to that many words. holy crap. thanks! awesome review!!!!

milosz

I like it.

It's nicely done. Don't feel like doing a breakdown of the whole song, but it's not only well done, but the tune ain't bad, neither! A good song to remix, even if I've never heard the original before :)

CyrusOfNaias responds:

Well to hear the original you can go to the Shin'en Productions site for it here

http://www.shinen.com/music/music.php 3?gax

And get a short clip of it by clicking on "Iridion Level 3"
Hope that helps~

Warning: helpful review ahead.

Yes, I have decided to make you an analysis review! Wish Dimrain would at least say thanks for mine a while back, but oh well :(

Intro (0:01-0:30) - This begins with a very epic intro crash, but then it cuts to a slowed down piano bit until 0:15. It was unexpected to be sure, but it fits the song well. Very originally done up to 0:15. After that point you start getting the techno elements added in, and from there it really starts to build up and helps you know something is coming. Well done, perfect intro; 3/3

Pre-Body (0:30-0:42) - This section establishes the main beat of the song, and a very catchy one at that. This is really a "like or dislike" section, not much can be done wrong here, so 1/1.

Body (0:43~1:35) - This bit here goes from awesome synth melody in the beginning to a bit of a layed back feel. No real advice, it's pretty generic, though, so perhaps something to break up the monotony next time. 1.5/2.

Post-Body (1:36-2:27) - This is the part where the return to the original theme really picks up, despite it beginning at around 1:30. This is a key element to most electronic music, I find, and indeed most music in general, but it is most prominent in elctronic varieties. It's well done, mimicking the original buildup without copying (or if it did, I cannot tell). 1/1.

End (2:27-2:35) - The ending is short and does the job of succinctly wraping up the song. Not much to say here, it does its job well. 2/2.

The "Do I like it" (0:00-2:35) - I do indeed. This nets you your final point. 1/1.

9.5 out of 10! An impressive score, but the middle really could be a bit less monotonous. It's very chilled, and it's hard to make chilled things not repeat, but it really helps dramatically with the relisten value of the song. Rounded up to 5 for the actual vote, and DL'd.

F-777 responds:

Thank you! Its actually nice to have someone review my song who would take the time for a review a long as this!

Its really cool to see what people think and this is awesome! Ya i agree the middle could have been better but i got lazy =P...

This is a really cool analysis of my song, it seems that i have made the majority of it a "Like or Dislike" which is awesome. Thanks for writing down what you truly think!

Thanks again for the review!!! (Lets all shoot Dimrain for not responding to his reviews enough lol)

Subsonic sounds?

I wasn't aware there were such things o.0

Subaudible, perhaps...

Anyway, it's pretty good. Trying to give it a creepy feel using sounds you can't even hear was a nice try, but my hearing is exceptionally good, and I rather picked up on them :(

... or at least the crazy vibration it was making. Nice effort, though, 8/10.

Rig responds:

I didn't try to make them inaudibly low - just low enough to rumble you up. I can hear them too :)
Thanks for the review!

Nothin' much to say

It's really just kinda *schooom* and it sounds good. Not much to dissect here, just plain good work, simple as that.

F-777 responds:

Thanks man =D

Not much time for a review ;(

However, I loved this song in TS2, and hope you will do even more timesplittery goodness! (Yes I know you've already done Anaconda, but perhaps the moon lander game would be remixable, as would the "Future Perfect" track from TS3? Love that track :D)

Basically it remixes everything, sounds great, does stuff right. Not enough time to be specific :(

CyrusOfNaias responds:

:O I should get around to more TS T_T...
Fine I think I'll make that a project soon :3
