Like the Heavier Feel

But if I can be honest here, I feel you may have slightly overstated the sidechain on the bass (or, perhaps, you simply did not properly volume-level the track?) the track by the middle starts to sound EXTREMELY compressed to the point that it becomes hard to make out some (or even most) of the detail. A more properly applied compression could probably keep the same extreme feel, but spare the track the lackluster details.

Loved The Preview

This song really exemplifies creative use of instruments, such as the harpsichord (I think?) put to a breakbeat - creates such a great feel, especially for the halloween vibe you guys were going for. Loved the preview, love this finished version, it's definitely properly mastered at least in terms of volume and clarity too, can't tell many other tweaks but it works nicely regardless.

5'd, 10'd, updated version DL'd.

Glad you enjoyed it =). We did work pretty hard on this puppy so i'm glad that ya'll are enjoying it as much as we enjoyed making it. yes, its a harpsichord =).

Hum

The song's components are not bad themselves, but if your more recent pieces still do not incorporate properly levelled track volumes perhaps you should look into that - these are really riding the master limiter into the ground.

Hmm

Honestly not a fan of the sound you used for this, I get the retro feel, but it just doesn't click for me. The mixing and master-related things seem fairly well done, though, but on the other hand it is a midi rip (with exception of perhaps one or two drum hits). I know I've submitted my fair share of midi covers over the last year (hey, learning is hard :p), but I kind of expected a bit more from a top 30 track in terms of harmony among the tonality of the instrumentation. That said, I'll give it a 3 because it's a solid effort for sure, and the use of panning is pretty well-done (something I've been working on myself), but it could use a bit of touching up in terms of instrument choices and originality in my opinion.

I'll bet I can :p

But that'd spoil it cause I'mma cheater xD

Love anyone who takes a stab at this

Got a bit too hardcore beat for me, but I was never very good at remixing this song.

Also, the Star Magician battle used Saturos's battle theme.

Great Breaks

Not really in the traditional manner of drum breaks, but those synth bell sounding hits are crisp and in your face in a great way. Love the artistic choice there.

Woah

I was never huge on this but I can tell the effort that went into the remake at least clarity-wise.

I'd love to know where you got that left panned bass, that was pretty powerful stuff.

Thanks =)
Give me a few minutes and I'll pm you the name of the synth.

Ah!

You did make a remastered version. I must say this is a lot clearer than the previous incarnation, good work.

:D!

This is what I like to see out of ambient.

Perhaps a tiny bit more definition in the mix (separate out those frequencies a little more and perhaps a bit of boost here and there to make some of the hits stand out like on that e-piano-sounding melody). The sweeps are pretty great, the rain provides wonderful ambiance and the indistinct vox (synth vox I think) sounds make you feel somewhere strange but familiar in a really well executed way. This is a download for me, and ambient is anything but my usual genre. I hope to see more like this, maybe even a remastered version in the future?
